Fresh Cut Grass
Hello Writers,
Happy May!
Last week brought some great writing to the Thursday group! Here’s what happened:
He recognized the smell of fresh-cut grass. It came to him; those shit-ass blockers let him get taken down. Then he sunk into a chill twilight again. The next time he came to, the prickle of the coppery blood in his mouth prodded him to place himself in space and time….
…Why did they leave him alone in the dark?
This dynamic piece of writing from Uncommon Knowledge, a cozy murder mystery by Suzanne Lay, opens with a dead body on the football field at the local High School. Main Character Anna Kilner serves as the school librarian, drives a yellow Jaguar, and solves the crime. Nice work, Sue.
Keep writing!
Margaret
